Summary
Following the Second World War, there were many changes within the United States. They created several branches of defence within the country to protect themselves nationally. They created the Department of Defence that would be the overseeing power of all facets of the US Military. In addition they created the National Security Council, a council for the purpose of advising the President on matters of defence. Finally, the Central Intelligence Agency, more commonly known as the CIA, was created to deal with espionage and intelligence collection on an international level.
