Summary
Korea was originally divided at the end of the Second World War between USA and Russia. This divide took placement along the 38th parallel. However, a war followed between North and South Korea. This conflict is often seen as a de-facto war between USa and it's western allies along with China and Russia. In general terms, it was a war between the USA and the communist states. The war see-sawed back and forth, the outcome never being entirely clear. The turning point was at Inchon Landing, where the Chinese sent almost a million troops to support the North. The United Nations was led by General McCarthur during this war.
