Summary
The Occupation of France was one of Germany's biggest victories. Due to their swift battle tactics they were able to quickly attack and take over france and secure Paris, the capitol city. Although investing exorbitant amounts of money into the Maginot Line, which made France a strong defensive country the German army was able to easily bypass this with both its strong airforce and the forest section of the Maginot Line that was not covered. Seen as small allied victory the evacuation at dunkirk saved many English and French lives by using civilian ships to transport troops to England. By cooperating with Germany, Marshall Petain became the new Prime Minister of France, which was established as the southern part of the previous France with Vichy as the capitol.
