Summary
Lyndon B Johnson was a wealthy Texan rancher who became Kennedy's Vice President and became President following Kennedy's assassination. Coming from Texas and being wealthy, there exists many parallels between Johnson and the Bush family. Johnson was reelected for a second term, his entire time in office embroiled in the Vietnam war. He was discredited, and didn't even bother to run against Nixon. He championed the civil rights bill, and is credited for forming the Peace Corps VISTA which took on the task of fighting the "war on poverty." He is also credited for searching for a way to find more equality for African Americans.
