Summary
Roosevelt wins the 1932 election and takes power in office in 1933. He introduced a number of new policies during his first 100 days of office. He came in during one of the most terrifying times for the United States economically. He attempts to restore the country's confidence, firstly tackling the banking issues. By making people confident enough to put money back into the banks, loans were made available again. This was his first focus. Following this, he brought in the New Deal. This was one of the biggest programs designed to deal with the Great Depression. Roosevelt was the longest serving US President, totalling with 4 terms. He was elected when there were 13 million people unemployed in the States. He suffered from something called infantile paralysis, making him paralyzed from birth, forcing him to use a wheelchair his entire life. Roosevelt dies just before the end of World War II in 1945 from a brain hemorrhage.

Subjunctive Question
What would've happened to the USA if Roosevelt had never become president? Would the USA have recovered to the same level form the recession without him?
