Summary
The Berlin wall was a physical wall that was placed in the city of Berlin to divide democratic West Berlin from the Communist Russia run east side of the city. People had been fleeing to the west through Berlin for many years, this being dubbed the "Brain Drain." Kruschev wanted Kennedy to pull out of Berlin and make it a free city. In response to this, Kennedy increases the US Strength in the city. Kruschev responds by building the Berlin Wall. Both leaders were accused of being soft in Berlin and fixed this by ordering the production of more nuclear weapons.
