Summary
John F Kennedy was elected as the 35th President of the USA after Eisenhower's two terms. He won the 1960 election, and begins his term in Office in 1961. He defeats Richard Nixon, and makes Lyndon B. Johnson his Vice-President. JFK was the youngest president to take office, being only 43 when he comes into power. Notably, he was the first and only Roman Catholic President, all other presidents before him having practiced different branches of Christianity. He was a major advocate of the Space Race.
